You will now use those extra bolts & secure new toilet down. You would want to go back and forth on each side and tighten up the bolts a bit more at a time to make sure the toilet sets flat. STEP 10 Switching A TOILET - SUPPLY LINE & BOLT CAPS At this point you may set the finish caps onto the screws you just tightend down this is to disguise the screws to create to toilet to look polished off. You then may attach water supply & turn the water on. It is best to flush a couple of times to be sure things are all working properly before you decide to caulk the base of the toilet because that may become a mess.
